I get a lot of questions from clients and peers on what the difference is between the blood type and the DNA diet. In this short video, I try to explain the difference.
Essentially, The blood type diet is not based on strong scientific evidence. Although interesting no doubt, it promotes people with different blood types to eat a diet that our ancestors ate at the time. The individual foods recommended in the book have not been scientifically tested in a controlled manner, but is based on the recommendation about the type of foods people ate at that time.
The DNA diet, is still a work in progress, however this is based on the genetic make-up of a person. It studies how people with different genetic variations respond to different diets. As we know, the environment and lifestyle factors can also have an influence on how people respond, therefore large scientific trials are carried out before tailored recommendations can be made. Although the evidence is mounting…..and fast, the scientififc evidence is not quite ready to make final conclusions just yet.
I hope that clears it up, but look forward to any comments!
